Belser Accounting was founded by J. Thomas Belser, CPA in January 1971. Tom was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and Ohio University where he majored in Finance and Economics. He continued his education at Wittenberg University where he majored in Accounting and then passed the CPA Examination. Tom left his prior employment at Super Foods Services, Inc. and began his business with several grocery store clients who followed him on his self-employment journey. Tom was joined by his wife Charlotte who assisted him as the bookkeeper. In 1979, daughter Anne joined the family business as a bookkeeper and continues in that capacity to this day.

J. Thomas Belser, CPA worked as a sole proprietor until 1994 when the business was purchased by his son, John T. Belser, CPA. John has owned and operated the family business for over twenty-five years. John was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and Bowling Green State University in 1980 with a major in accounting. John passed the CPA Examination in 1984 and worked in the Columbus, Ohio area for twelve years before moving back to Bellefontaine and joining his father in the family business.

Belser Accounting has operated at several locations in Bellefontaine over the years. Most notably was the location at 204 East Columbus Avenue where they were located for thirty-five years. Belser Accounting moved into its current location at 1344 South Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio in January 2015.
